Q: How did you feel about Sunday’s scrimmage?
A: I think the defense did a lot of good things, but we still got a lot of other things that we can work on.
Q: What would you say are some of the defense’s strong points and some of their weak points, after seeing them in action on Sunday?
A: We had a lot of good tackling. Everybody got to the ball. We had a lot of good ball disruptions. We are strong and physical. Some of our weaknesses is that we missed a lot of tackles, [which] could be critical.
Q: Would you say this year’s d-line is better than last year?
A: I wouldn’t say that. I would just say that we are just more together as a unit. Everybody is just playing together. The team is getting closer and closer and we get better like that.
Q: How do you feel about your numbers?
(2 total tackles)
A: It’s not about numbers to me, really. As long as the defense is doing well and everyone is doing their job, we will win.
Q: What do you think about the freshman Ereck Flowers and how he did on the o-line?
A: Ereck is a very tough guy. He’s very strong. When the first time I went against him, I didn’t think he was a freshman. He still has got a lot to work on, but, as a freshman, he’s a very strong, smart and physical guy. We really need that type of guy.
Q: After Sunday, do you think there was anything that woke you up and made you realize that you need to step up on?
A: I need to step up on my pass rush a little bit. Sitting in the edge and getting their a little faster. But, other than that, I think I’m ok.
Q: What surprised you from the offense?
A: They’re just very explosive.
