"I talked to Coach Venables, we had a little conversation. They wanted to head in a different direction, so I felt that I needed to decommit, because I've been wanting to explore other options and other schools," Daniel said.
Daniel had planned on taking several official visits and Clemson was never on the list of schools he talked about visiting. He visited Marshall earlier this season and is just coming off a visit to Mississippi State.
"(MSU) was pretty good, hung out with the guys, I got to meet Coach Wilson and Coach Brewster and Coach Mullen – they are good people. The players on the team are fun people, so it went well," Daniel said.
"I like the fact that they work really hard. They put a big emphasis on working hard and that's what I love to do."
The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive end says several other schools are in the mix.
"I wouldn't say I have a leader, I'd say I like a lot of schools."
Any of those could land Daniel for one of his three remaining officials. He's talked about visiting Florida in December, and he has an official visit set up to Mississippi on November 24th, but that may not happen anymore.
"I'm supposed to go to Ole Miss this weekend, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go because of the holiday, I'm not sure what my family has going on. I plan to take all five visits," he said.
