Johnson, Bush named Freshman All-Americans

College Football News has released its annual freshman All-American Team, and two Hurricanes made the list.

Duke Johnson and Deon Bush came to the University of Miami as high profile recruits in the Class of 2012. They chose the Hurricanes over pretty much every major program in America, and it didn't take long for them to make a big impact.

Johnson burst onto the scene in the season opener with over 100 yards and two scores against Boston College. He ended up breaking Miami's freshman rushing record, and had over 1,000 yards of total offense. He was also one of the nation's top return specialists.

The Canes entered the 2012 season a bit thin at the safety spot, and it didn't take Bush long to really assert himself. He finished the season with 34 tackles, three caused fumbles, and three pass breakups. The talented freshman started six games, and played in a total of ten. He was Miami's best safety by season's end.

Both players were named to the publication's second team, and have very bright futures as Hurricanes.
