The University of Miami Men's Basketball team pulled a major upset today when they knocked off nationally-ranked Michigan State.

The Hurricanes came into the game as big underdogs but it didn't matter. After falling behind early and trailing at halftime, the Canes really came alive in the second half and came away with the big upset in front of 5,791 fans.

Trey McKinnie Jones led Miami in scoring with 18 points. Durand Scott and Shane Larkin added 15 each. Reggie Johnson finished the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Hurricanes finished 9-of-16 from three-point range, and connected on 15-of-16 free throws in the second half to complete the upset.

Keith Appling scored 15 points for the Spartans, pacing their team for the night. Gary Harris added eight boards.

Larkin, Scott, Johnson, Jones, and Kenny Kadji were the starters for Miami in this game.

The Canes are now 4-2 on the season, and will play at UMass on Saturday for their next game.
