Hoops: Miami 75, UMass 62

The University of Miami Men's Basketball team followed up their upset over Michigan State the other night with a solid performance.

After playing a few home games in recent days the Hurricanes hit the road to take on a 3-2 UMass team. The Canes came away with a 75-62 win.

Reggie Johnson played a tremendous game for the Hurricanes. He scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Canes in both categories. Durand Scott scored 15, while Shane Larkin added 14.

Terrell Vinson led UMass with 14 points. His strong first half performance wasn't enough to prevent the Canes from grabbing a five-point halftime lead. Miami was able to maintain the lead throughout the second half before they started to run away with the game late.

Johnson, Scott, Larkin, Trey McKinney Jones, and Kenny Kadji were the starters for the Hurricanes for the second straight game.

Miami is now 5-1 on the season, and will return home to host Charlotte on Friday.
