The Hurricanes had split its first two road games of the season -- losing to Florida Gulf Coast early in the year and then beating UMass recently. They added another win tonight, by defeating UCF on its home floor by the score of 72-50.
Durand Scott scored 17 points for Miami but it was Reggie Johnson who turned in the top overall performance for Miami. He scored 15 points and added 13 boards.
The Hurricanes dominated the first half, and took a 16-point lead into halftime. UCF made it a little closer in the second half but never came anywhere close.
Keith Clanton finished with 15 points for the Knights, who fell to 6-3 on the season with the loss.
The starting lineup of Scott, Johnson, Kenny Kadji, Shane Larkin, and Trey McKinney Jones is now 4-0 for the Hurricanes this season.
Miami extended its record to 7-1 with the win, and it will begin play in the Diamond Head Classic on Sunday in Honolulu against Hawaii.
