Golden has in-home visit with RB Premium Story

This talented running back prospect says he had an in-home visit with Al Golden earlier this week. Read on to see what he's saying about that, Miami's future, and more.

Ray Lewis helped his Lake Mary Prep team reach the state quarterfinals this season by running for over 1,500 yards. He doubled as a defensive back and had over 70 tackles.

The son of the all-time great, Lewis made a very early commitment to the University of Miami and he talked about the season the Canes just had.

"I think the Canes did great this year," Lewis said. "Obviously they wanted to win more games but they were young. We got some great recruits coming in next year so I’m really looking forward to it. Duke Johnson was awesome and had a great freshman year, and I'm looking forward to getting down there and competing with all those guys."

Lewis, 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, says Miami is recruiting him as an athlete. His future position will be determined once he gets on campus this summer.

"I’ve talked to the coaches about my chance of going in and starting right away but we just have to wait and see what happens. I’m going there in May, so I can start preparing myself for next year."

Lewis is ready to take his official visit to Miami, which will happen this coming weekend.

"My official to Miami is this weekend, the 18th. I’m looking forward to it, I would definitely say I’m a solid commit right now. I don’t plan on visiting any other schools."

Lewis says he's developed a good relationship with running backs coach Terry Richardson.

"I stay in touch with Coach Richardson a lot. Him and Coach Golden came yesterday and had an in-home visit with my family and I," he said. "It went great, they were able to answer any questions we had."

The talented running back prospect says one of the main reasons why he chose Miami is because of his strong relationship with their coaches.

"That’s one of the main reasons I chose Miami - the relationship I’ve developed with the coaches. They seem like friends of mine, not just coaches, so I really look forward to playing for them. I'm really excited about what they're doing, and for the future of the whole team."
