Former NC State commit to visit Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt is in hot pursuit of running back Matthew Dayes who attends Cypress Bay High School in Broward County, Fla. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound speedster committed to N.C. State in late June, but decided to open things back up after the school made a coaching change. Dayes spoke with about his recent in-home visit with the Commodore coaches and his plans to visit the university.

"Coach Gattis came by with Coach Franklin last week," said Matthew Dayes. "They're pretty neat guys. We had a nice visit. They think I'm a great overall back who has everything they're looking for. They said I'd be an excellent fit in the offense. I'm really interested in Vanderbilt. I'll be taking my official there next weekend [January 25th]." As a senior, Dayes led the charge on offense...
