In front of 7,972 fans at home, the Hurricanes followed up their impressive win against Duke with a big win over arch-rival Florida State by the score of 71-49.
The Hurricanes jumped out to a nine-point halftime lead, thanks to a strong performance by Trey McKinnie Jones who finished the game with 15 points.
Durand Scott and Kenny Kadji each added 11 points for the Hurricanes, while freshman Shane Larkin grabbed nine rebounds. Reggie Johnson, playing in his second game back since returning from injury, logged 22 minutes and added five points and six boards.
Ian Miller led the way for Florida State, scoring 112 points and getting four boards for a Seminole team that is now 11-8 on the season.
The Hurricanes dominated the second half to pull away with the big victory. They were 47-percent from the floor in the second half, and made 40-percent of its three-point shots.
The win sends the Canes to 15-3 on the season, including a 6-0 start in the ACC. Miami will take a few days off now before traveling to take on Virginia Tech on the road on Wednesday night.
