Louisville Trinity officially has another BCS commitment on its roster as four-star senior running back Dalyn Dawkins announced his decision tonight.
"He chose Purdue," his father Ralph Dawkins reported.
Dawkins held offers from several other schools including Cincinnati and Illinois, but ultimately chose the Boilers over Colorado State and Western Kentucky. A big reason was the chance to play early.
"It's the Big Ten conference and there are no proven running backs there," Mr. Dawkins explained, "so he has an opportunity to play early. Those are the key factors."
During his time at Trinity, Dawkins helped his team win three state titles. As a senior, he rushed for 1,479 yards and 18 touchdowns and added five more receiving.
Dawkins was rated by Scout as the number six player in Kentucky and the number 56 player in the Midwest.
