Hurley Brown is Miami's New RB's Coach

Hurlie Brown is Miami's new running backs coach, Al Golden announced today.

Hurlie Brown was part of two national championship teams at the University of Miami back in the 80s. After spending a couple seasons on the football support staff, he will now be a full-time assistant for the Hurricanes.

Brown spent the last two seasons working as Senior Football Operators Coordinator. That job included a variety of roles, including organizing official visits for incoming recruits.

Brown spent four seasons as an assistant coach (defensive backs) at Louisiana-Lafayette before joining Golden's staff a couple years ago.

Brown, originally from Merritt Island High in central Florida, started his coaching career as a graduate assistant on Dennis Erickson's staff back in 1992.

Brown spent a few seasons playing pro football before re-joining the coaching ranks in the late 1990's.

Brown will coach a talented group of running backs, headlined by sophomore Duke Johnson, and that also includes incoming freshman Augustus Edwards.
