Hoops: Canes without Johnson

Posted Mar 26, 2013

Starting center Reggie Johnson did not travel to Washington, DC with the rest of his team for the Sweet 16.

Reggie Johnson suffered an injury against Illinois on Sunday night and it's now preventing him from playing in Thursday's showdown against Marquette, the school announced this afternoon.

Johnson, 6-foot-10 and 290 pounds, has been a key member of Miami's run this season. The talented center has started nine games, and played in 15 others for the Canes.

The talented senior is averaging 7.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game for the red-hot Hurricanes.

"His timetable for returning to the court is uncertain," a school official said on Tuesday afternoon.
