The Hurricanes went about 60 plays with the first unit and then 50-55 with the second unit in front of about 3,000 fans at Naples High last night.
Stephen Morris led the first unit and threw a couple touchdown passes. Wide receiver Rashawn Scott and Dallas Crawford stepped up and had strong performances with a pair of touchdowns each.
The first unit was playing without speedy receiver Phillip Dorsett, who was competing with UM's track team out of town yesterday.
Ryan Williams and Gray Crow split time with the second group and each turned in solid performances.
"That's a battle," Al Golden said. "Gray led a nice drive from the backup position, and then Ryan answered. We'll evaluate them more thorough. There's a good competition brewing."
The defensive again registered several sacks against an offensive line that continues playing without three starters -- Brandon Linder, Shane McDermott, and Jon Feliciano.
Kelvin Cain, Tyriq McCord, and Anthony Chickillo each turned in sacks for the defense, which simply had to touch the quarterbacks to record the sack -- making the sack numbers a bit skewed.
The Hurricanes will return to the practice field on Tuesday as they will now begin to prepare for the spring game next Saturday.
