Johnson named to the Hornung Watch List

Posted Jul 5, 2013

Duke Johnson is one of six players from the ACC on the Paul Hornung Watch List.

Sophomore running back Duke Johnson was one of 44 players named to the 2013 Paul Hornung Watch List today, the Louisville Sports Commission announced.

The Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in college football. Johnson is one of just four sophomores on this year's preseason watch list.

Johnson, a preseason All-American selection by some publications, turned in one of the best freshman seasons ever at the University of Miami. He finished the season with 2,060 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns. His 947 rushing yards were the most ever by a Hurricane freshman.

The Paul Hornung announcement ceremony will be held in January of 2014 at the Galt House in downtown Louisville.
