Clive Walford put together a very good sophomore campaign for the Hurricanes last season, and people have taken notice on a national level.
The talented junior was named to the John Mackey Award Watch List, the school announced today.
At 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, Walford finished the 2012 season with 25 catches for 451 yards and four touchdowns. He's one of just two players who caught a pass in every game last season.
The Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's best tight end, will be anded out on December 12th at 6 pm as part of the College Football Awards Show.
Kellen Winslow is the last Hurricane to win the award, which happened following the 2003 regular season.
