Johnson Named to Doak Walker Award Watch List

University of Miami sophomore running back Duke Johnson has been named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, the school announced on Thursday.

Duke Johnson was named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List on Thursday. The award is given annually to the best running back in college football.

Johnson, 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, is a former five-star recruit from nearby Norland High. He made a big impact right away as a true freshman last season, finishing the year with 2,060 all purpose yards and 13 touchdowns. He broke Clinton Portis' 13 year-old freshman rushing record with 947 yards on the ground.

The winner of the award will be announced on December 12th, as part of the College Football Awards Show. Recommended Stories
