OL set to transfer from Miami

Posted Jan 14, 2014

Rising senior offensive lineman Malcolm Bunche, who started 14 career games for the Hurricanes, will not return for the 2014 season.

Malcolm Bunche is no longer a Hurricane, according to the school.

Bunche, a former four-star offensive line recruit from Delaware, will transfer and play his senior season someplace else.

At 6-foot-7 and 325 pounds, Bunche signed with Miami out of high school but then had to attend a Prep School before enrolling here.

After redshirting his first season in 2010, Bunche played in eight games in 2011 and earned a start against Virginia. He then started all 12 games at left tackle in 2012 before losing his starting job as a junior in 2013. Bunche played in 11 games this past season but started just once.

The rising senior was expected to take over one of the starting offensive line spots that are now open thanks to the graduation of three seniors.

Bunche has not yet announced which school he'll attend for the 2014 season but it won't be anyone on Miami's upcoming schedule.
