Visits on tap for Strowbridge

Jason Strowbridge has a long list of programs after him and this summer he'll visit several. The four-star defensive end of Deerfield Beach (Fla.) talks the latest right here.

Different schools have stood out to Jason Strowbridge at different times. The rising senior defensive end says there are a few schools he keeps in contact with regularly.

"Right now, I've been talking to coaches from Kentucky, Miami still, North Carolina, Purdue. I don't have a top ten yet, I'll probably release it like right before the season," he said.

There will be a couple key factors that help separate the top schools for four-star defensive end.

"Somewhere that I know I can make an impact and play right away, and one that has marine biology as a minor," he said.

"Definitely a four-three, I want to play in a four-three."

Miami is one of the few schools that Strowbridge has already visited. His most recent visit was for the spring game.

"I liked it. I've been there a lot of times, so I already know how everything is. I was comfortable there," he said.

"I usually talk to (running backs) coach Hurlie (Brown) or (defensive line) coach Jethro (Franklin) at least once or twice a week."

"Basically, they just talk about how much they need me and where I would fit in. Coach Hurlie was telling me about the marine biology trips they take in the summer."

This summer, the Deerfield Beach (Fla.) standout will visit several schools with his dad.

"This summer, I'm going to probably go to Kentucky, Louisville, maybe Alabama, Auburn, maybe Tennessee," he said.

He's really looking forward to seeing Kentucky for the first time.

"Coach (D.J.) Eliot, the defensive end coach, he put out a lot of defensive ends that are in the NFL right now, so I know he's a good coach," Strowbridge said.

Strowbridge says his parents will be helping him make his decision. He says his dad likes Alabama and his mom likes Miami. Strowbridge says he likes the idea of staying home, but he isn't set on it.

"It doesn't really matter to me. I would be more comfortable at home, but then again I want to experience other things," he said.

He also says a fall decision is likely.

"Yeah (I want to wait it out), but then again, I want to stop the recruitment soon because it's kind of getting out of hand, but I think I'll probably wait until the end of the season."
