Shields Suspended

Sophomore wide receiver Sam Shields has been suspended from this week's game against Marshall, Randy Shannon announced today.

Sophomore wide receiver Sam Shields was not listed on the team's depth chart for the season opener this Saturday when it was released on Tuesday morning.

That's because Shields has been suspended by head coach Randy Shannon. No reason or timeframe for his return was given.

Khalil Jones and Lance Leggett were named the starters for Saturday. Shields will have to work himself into a starting role if he's to become one since Shannon said the starters are totally determined based on performance.

Stay tuned to as we continue monitoring the situation. Recommended Stories
