"The visit went real good," Lewis said. "I liked spending time with the players, the atmosphere of the school and the coaches."
Lewis (6-foot-3, 309 pounds) was able to spend time with several current Miami players.
"I hung out with Baby James, Dwayne Hendricks, Antonio Dixon, Randy Phillips, Orlando Franklin," Lewis said. "My host was Dwayne (Hendricks)."
He had positive things to say about Hendricks.
"He is a good person," Lewis said. "I spoke with him before coming and he is a real good guy. We had a good time."
Lewis was also able to meet head coach Randy Shannon in a 1-on1.
"The meeting was real good, I was impressed, he is just a real good person," Lewis said. "We just talked about me coming in and being an impact player and how I shouldn't look at the numbers. They need guys on the inside."
The only thing left for Lewis is making a decision, which will be done on signing day. Lewis has finished taking his official visits and doesn't have any in-home visits currently scheduled before his letter of intent is due.
"Everything will be done on signing day," Lewis said. "We'll have something at school, it will be nice."
Lewis also had a chance to meet the Hurricanes new defensive coordinator Bill Young.
"He wants me to be apart of this program," Lewis said. "He said he wants me to play early and that is what I want. But, I don't want it give me. I am going to work hard wherever I go and play."
Lewis has a list of schools he is considering.
"Right now I'm considering North Carolina, Tennessee, Miami, and Clemson," Lewis said. "I am still committed to Miami, but things are even at all of the schools, I don't know what I am going to do yet. I like all of the schools evenly right now. Don't assume anything."
"I want the defense to be a 4-3," Lewis said. "You have more defensive lineman around you so you can make plays. You can make things happen."
What kind of player will a team get in Lewis?
"A hard working, good person that is a good defensive tackle," Lewis said.
Lewis finished his senior season with 50 tackles and eight sacks.
The ‘Canes hosted a number of recruits this past weekend. One of which was Palm Beach Lakes (FL) defensive tackle Jeremy Lewis. Read on for the latest following his visit.
