Where will Tay Odoms trip to this weekend?
Where will Tay Odoms trip to this weekend?

Posted Jan 29, 2008

This weekend, Pahokee standout wide receiver Tay Odoms was supposed to trip to Coral Gables for his official visit. He was unable to make it. Find out what happened and what his plan is for this weekend as he still has one more official visit scheduled. Read on to find out if Coral Gables is his destination.

Pahokee High School (FL) wide receiver Tay Odoms was supposed to trip this week to Coral Gables for an official visit to the University of Miami. However, a snag in the paper work led to Odoms staying home this past weekend.

“I didn’t go,” Odoms said. “My paper work wasn’t turned in all of the way. It is alright though. Nothing has changed.”

With that now behind him, Odoms (5-foot-8, 171 pounds) will be tripping this weekend as well. But where? U of M...the other U of M.

“I am going to be at Michigan this week,” Odoms said. “I just want to learn about the coaching staff and environment really, I’ve never been there.”

Where do the ‘Canes now stand after missing out on his official visit?

“Miami is still the same with me, I just didn’t visit,” Odom said. “I would like to though.”

Odoms and the Hurricanes coaching staff are trying to work something out.

“I think (an unofficial) will happen (before signing day),” Odoms said. “We are and will work something out.”

Odoms has put together his top three schools. All of them are even going into the final week before National Signing Day.

“Right now I am looking at South Florida, Michigan, and Miami,” Odoms said. “All of them are even. I got a good feeling for all of them. Those are the schools I have felt the most comfortable with.”

Recently, there has been rumors circulating that Odoms may enter the University of Miami under a track scholarship.

“Yes, it has been discussed. Maybe it happens, maybe it doesn’t, I don’t know right now,” Odoms said. “I don’t know that I’d immediately go to Miami, but if I get that, I’ll sign on, but I haven’t gotten that yet.”

Odoms will make his decision known on the day Letters of Intent are due, National Signing Day.

“We’ll have something on signing day,” Odoms said.

“We might have something big, we should because everyone that is going to sign will be there.”

Before Odoms trips to Ann Arbor this weekend, he will have an in-home visit with USF.

“South Florida will be up sometime this week,” Odoms said. “I think it’ll go good, we’ll see.”

Odoms reports a 2.5 GPA and is currently waiting on an ACT score in which he hope to improve on a 15.
