Spring practice starts next week for the Canes and there's a lot going on. CanesTime.com brings you the latest in this News & Notes to catch you up to speed on all the latest.

* Spring starts next Tuesday and only the scrimmages will be open to the public.

* The team will practice Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday of next week. Then the second week, they'll practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then the third and foruth weeks, they'll practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Weekday practices will start at 3 and weekend practices will start at 10. Open scrimmages will be held at Traz Powell Stadium in North Miami and Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, the site of this year's CanesFest.

* The quarterbacks will only be made available to the media once a week throughout spring practice.

* The names will be back on the jerseys this season. He says it's because the team understands the concept of what they're trying to do now.

* Jersey numbers for the early enrolled kids haven't been finalized yet.

* Glenn Cook and Romeo Davis are still going through the appeal process for the extra year. They should know by today or Monday. He seemed confident.

* Shannon said the team is starting to take image of what the coaches want. Guys are getting on each other in the classroom and they're starting to really understand the big picture of what the coaches are trying to get done.
