Florida athlete claims big offers

Ray Ray Armstrong will be one of the top recruited players in the Central Florida area this year and the Sanford (Seminole) standout talked about his offers, his leaders, what he's looking for in a school, and more.

"Things are going good," Ray Ray Armstrong said. "I have a bunch of offers already -- Florida State, Florida, Miami, FAU, FIU, Kentucky, Iowa State, UCF, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Georgia, Purdue, a bunch of them. It's been great."

Armstrong, 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, played quarterback and safety as a junior last season. He was 47-for-104 for 639 yards, three touchdowns, and eight picks on offense. While playing safety, he had around 30 tackles and two interceptions.

"I believe I'm more versatile than most players," he said. "I can play a few different positions pretty well."

Armstrong, who also plays basketball and runs track, talked about some of the top schools on his list.

"I wanna stay in Florida so my top choices are Miami, Florida State, and Florida," he said. "Those are who I watched and followed growing up. I've always liked them and that's who I've watched the most. I'll see what else is out there."

The talented junior, who carries a 3.5 GPA in the classroom, talked about what he'll be looking for in a school.

"Can I play early will be the biggest thing," he said. "And then academics."

Armstrong probably projects best as a strongside linebacker at the college level. He hasn't scheduled any spring or summer visits yet.
