The University of Miami ended its two-game losing streak on Saturday against UCF. They came out with a 20-14 win over the Knights, pushing their season record to 3-3.

Graig Cooper had 90 yards and a touchdown, as he led the way for a Miami offense that struggled through the air. Robert Marve struggled in this game, throwing three picks, and ended up giving way to backup Jacory Harris, who couldn't get anything going through the air either.

Thanks to an excellent performance by Miami's defense, the Canes held UCF out of the endzone when the Knights had the football. UCF's only two scores came on an interception return for a touchdown and a kickoff return for a touchdown.

The Canes got the scoring going in the first quarter when Marve hit Travis Benjamin for a touchdown to make the score 7-0.

After Richard Gordon blocked a UCF punt, the Canes were unable to punch it into the endzone but came away with a Matt Bosher field goal, pushing the score to 10-0.

UCF cut the lead to 10-7 when they returned a Marve interception close to 70 yards for a score. That was the halftime score.

A snap that went over the punter's head gave Miami two more points in the third quarter, making the score 12-7. After UCF's Joe Burnett muffed a punt, Cooper scored from five yards out, making the score 20-7 following a successful two-point conversion.

UCF came right back, as Burnett scored on a 91-yard kick return after Sam Shields was offside on the previous play. That made the score 20-14.

Miami was unable to add any more points but the defense did a nice job in stopping the Knights at the end of the game when they were trying to put together a winning touchdown drive.

The win pushes Miami to 3-3 heading into next Saturday's road game at Duke.
