Adkins drafted in 6th round

Spencer Adkins was the first Hurricane drafted on Sunday when the Atlanta Falcons selected him with the third pick of the sixth round.

Spencer Adkins was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the 176th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

Adkins, 5-foot-11 and 230 pounds, was the first Hurricane selected. Adkins finished his career with 64 tackles, 10 for loss, five sacks, and one interception.

Adkins signed with Miami out of Naples High, where he was a four-star prospect according to Scout.com.
