Post-Game: Jacory Harris

Posted Oct 11, 2009

Read on to see what quarterback Jacory Harris was saying following Miami's 48-16 win over Florida A&M on Saturday night.

On the overall performance…
“We had a good night tonight. I made a couple of mistakes, but as a team we came out there and put up points. We ran the ball on them, and we just had a good game.”

On his performance…
“I was all over the place. I kind of took a hit, when I came back I made a wrong read on one of the coverages. No. 21 just made a good play. I threw it right to him and it’s his job to catch the ball and he did that.”

On the preparation for the game…
“You still have to go into the game the same way. They are a good team. We went out there and prepared the whole week for FAMU and they came out there and gave us a great game. We just made a lot of plays and did a lot of things to get better.”

On what he said to back-up quarterback A.J. Highsmith
“I didn’t really say much to A.J. He knows everything that Coach [Mark] Whipple has in the playbook. There is not really much that he doesn’t know so I could really say to him is “Let’s go out there and have fun. Get some stats for yourself.’ I owed it to him from the Georgia Tech game, because he was mad that he didn’t get in, so it was his time tonight.”

On being on the sideline for the second half…
“It’s alright. it gives me more mental reps. I go out there and just watch everything I miss and look at some of the coverages they are showing. I use that time for me to get better.”

On his relationship with A.J.…
“It’s a good one. We room together in the hotel and he always brings PBJ sandwiches to the room. I make sure that he answers the door when they come at 10:30 for room check, because I don’t feel like getting up. I just do little things to mess with him but overall he’s a good guy and just someone I can hang out with and have fun with.”

On Jimmy Graham’s 3 catches and 3 TD’s...
“He is someone I can just throw the ball up high to. When someone has a 42 inch vertical, I can just throw the ball up and take chances sometimes. Even if he is covered, I can just kind of loaf it up there and he will probably make a play. I missed him in the back of the end zone. I thought I threw it up a little too high. That was my fault.”
