Names like Josh Nesbitt, Jon Dwyer, and Anthony Allen were the prominent names mentioned thus far this season in Georgia Tech’s prolific ground game. Saturday night Roddy Jones added his name to that list. Roddy talked about the A backs’ responsibility to be ready to perform when their number is call in his post game comments.

Can you talk about your performance tonight?

“In this offense you have to be ready to get the ball. If you don’t get the ball, you have to be ready to do your job blocking. Guys did their job blocking. Anthony Allen threw some great blocks out there for me and I was fortunate enough to have a big day.”

In this offense you never know who’s going to get the ball?

“Absolutely, and you have to be ready. Every week you know you’re going to have to go out there and block somebody but when your number is called you have to be ready to do the best you can. As I said, our guys did a great job blocking tonight and I was just the beneficiary.”

How difficult was it getting up for this game after some tough conference games?

“I think coach did a good job of telling us what’s at stake in this game. We have a chance for a pretty special season. We couldn’t take anybody lightly and we tried to go out there, and they played a great game and have a great coaching staff, so we had to come out and play.”

How do you feel going into next week with two more wins for a Coastal championship?

“We feel good. We have some stuff we need to correct and we’re going to come back Monday and correct it but we feel good going into Wake Forest. We’re excited about the opportunity that is in front of us.”

What about your buddy Warren Norman?

“He’s a great back. He’s a guy that’s hard to take down. He’s got a lot of speed. I’m proud of how he played tonight. He played well. He’s been playing well all year. I wish him the best and I hope he keeps having a lot of success.”

Was the production the team got tonight something you saw the potential for going into the game?

“We feel like we have the potential to put up that many yards every week. We feel if we go out and execute the defense is going to have a hard time stopping us. If we just keeping coming out and doing our jobs we can put up those kinds of yards every week."

Was it nice to see a little space tonight running the ball?

“Like I said earlier, the guys did a great job blocking on the counter plays that I had. The left side of the line did a great job and An (thony) bouncing outside and blocking on the safety. It was fun to be out there tonight.”

Do you feel like you’re back to 100% now?

“Absolutely, we feel like we’re hitting on all cylinders and if we keep executing on offense we’ll be pretty good.”

Last year you turned it on the last part of the season. Is this the game that is going to give you that impetus this season?

“I sure hope so. As I said, I know my place in this offense and when my number is called I’m going to try and do the best I can. If not, I’m going to try and go out there and block and help this team win.”
