GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Miami student-athletes Allen Bailey, Matt Bosher and Brandon Harris have been selected to the 2010 Preseason All-ACC Football team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

The team was selected in voting conducted by the media at the annual ACC Football Kickoff, which was held July 25-26 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro.

Bailey, Bosher and Harris are three of 16 honorees on the team that were selected to the 2009 All-ACC first team. Bailey made this year’s preseason squad as a defensive end, Harris is representing UM as a cornerback while Bosher made the team both as kicker and a punter.

As a junior in 2009, Bailey led the `Canes in sacks (7.0) and tackles for a loss (11.0) in addition to leading all UM defensive linemen with 34 total tackles. He ranked fourth in the ACC in sacks per game (0.58) and tied for seventh in tackles for a loss per game (0.92). He was named first team All-ACC at defensive tackle by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association, Rivals.com and Phil Steele and was awarded the Strength Training Athlete of the Year at the team's annual awards banquet. Earlier this preseason, the Sapelo, Ga. native was named to the preliminary watch lists for the Rotary Lombardi Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

Harris earned All-America honors by SI.com, the Associated Press and Phil Steele Magazine as a sophomore in 2009. He led the ACC and ranked second nationally in averaging 1.31 passes defended per contest while tying for second nationally in pass break-ups (15) and third in passes defended (17). He ranked third on UM's defense with 58 total tackles, forced two fumbles and intercepted two passes. The Miami native was named one of 12 semifinalists for the Thorpe Award given to the nation's top defensive back and this preseason, he was named to the 2010 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List.

Bosher was named to the 2009 All-ACC team as a first team kicker and second team punter after connecting on 14-of-16 field goal attempts and averaging 42.5 yards per punt. He was also chosen to the Rivals.com All-ACC first team as a kicker and to the Phil Steele All-ACC first team as a kicker and second team as a punter. He connected on 12 straight field goals as a junior in 2009, which is the second-best streak in school history in a career and in a single-season. His 87.5 field goal percentage ranked third in the ACC and he was a perfect 50-of-50 in PAT's, which were the most in the ACC and ranked as the second-best mark in a single season at Miami. In ACC play, the Jupiter native led the conference with a 42.9 yards per punt average in addition to tying for the league-lead in going 32-of-32 in PAT's.

Ten of the ACC’s 12 teams were represented on the team, and a total of 52 ballots were cast at the Kickoff for the preseason all-conference football team.

The Hurricanes will open the 2010 campaign with a Thursday night matchup against Florida A&M on Sept. 2 at Sun Life Stadium. For ticket information for the 2010 season, call 1-800-GO-CANES or visit www.hurricanesports.com.
