Biography:
2006: Capped off a fine comeback season by starting 12 games...Played left cornerback most of the season...Posted a career-best 44 tackles (31 solo), with two tackles for loss, one QB pressure, a team-high 14 pass deflections and two interceptions...Received the team's Jessie Armstead Comeback Player of the Year Award and was the recipient of the 2006 Brian Piccolo Award as the most courageous player in the Atlantic Coast Conference...Tied for third in the ACC with 15 passes defended...Started his first game in three years in the season opener vs. Florida State, playing on 45 snaps, making one solo and one assisted tackle. Also deflected two passes.

2005: Missed the entire season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a summer workout three weeks before the start of training camp...Underwent surgery on July 13, 2005 and missed the entire year while undergoing rehabilitation.

2004: Returned quickly from knee surgery and played in the first two games of the season...However, since he wasn't completely recovered, he was held out of the remainder of the season to have further arthroscopic surgery and completely rehab his injury...Received a medical redshirt...Played as the nickelback vs. Florida State and Louisiana Tech, then sat out the remainder of the year...Made one QB pressure vs. FSU.

2003: Played in seven games before suffering a season-ending knee injury in Game 9 against Tennessee...Was credited with five tackles (four solo) on the season...Also made one tackle for a loss, intercepted one pass and broke up four passes.

2002: Played in 12 games, starting three games (Florida A&M, Temple and Connecticut)...Spent much of the season as the backup at right cornerback to starter Kelly Jennings...Credited with 18 tackles (13 solo), one fumble recovery and three passes broken up...Made two tackles in the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State.

High School: A standout on one of Florida's top big-school programs...Lettered in both football and track...Intercepted 17 passes during his high school career...Made 70 tackles (50 solo), broke up 12 passes and intercepted three passes as a senior in 2001, in addition to returning a punt for a touchdown...Intercepted five passes as a junior, playing in just six games while missing half of the season with an injury...Had nine interceptions as a sophomore. Earned seven varsity letters (three in football, four in track)...School record holder in the 400 meters (47.25) and qualified for the state championships meet all four years...Chose Miami over North Carolina State, Louisiana State and Rutgers...Coached by Walt Frazier.
