Perryman and Chickillo honored by ACC

Denzel Perryman and Anthony Chickillo were honored by the ACC this week for their performances against Florida on Saturday.

The Hurricanes defeated Florida by the score of 21-16 this past weekend in a game where Miami's defense made several key stops.

The two most impressive Hurricanes were junior linebacker Denzel Perryman and junior defensive end Anthony Chickillo. Both players were honored by the ACC following their strong performances.

Perryman was named ACC Linebacker of the Week and Chickillo was named Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week.

Perryman finished the game with a team-high 13 tackles, including nine solo stops. He also forced one of the Gator turnovers. His 19 tackles through two games leads the team.

Chickillo added five tackles and one sack in the game. It was his 23rd consecutive start at defensive end for the Hurricanes. He now has 10 tackles and two sacks through the team's first two games of the season.

The 15th-ranked Hurricanes are off this week, and will return to action at home against Savannah State next Saturday. Recommended Stories
