Marve talks about his first game, A&M

Read on to see what Robert Marve is saying about his first game against Florida, the Texas A&M defense, and his overall confidence level at this point in the season.

On working with the wide receivers…
We've been working all camp really. The Gators threw a different thing at us than we thought a little bit, but we have a good idea of what is going on this Saturday and what we want to do against them. We feel comfortable on all of the plays that coach [Patrick] Nix calls.

On Texas A&M's defense…
They have a great defense. They have a great defensive coordinator in coach [Joe] Kines – good guy – and I know he is going to have them ready to play. They have a whole bunch of athletes over there and we're going to have to play a good game against them.

On his comfort level at quarterback…
I felt very comfortable with the game speed and all of that. Playing against the Gators, now I know how it feels. You kind of second guess yourself, ‘Am I up to par? Am I ready?' …well I felt very good in the Gators' game so I feel like I'm ready, yes, and I'm excited to play some more games

On playing his first collegiate game…
I felt honored to be out there on the field, I felt very privileged to be a ‘Cane and it felt good being back on the field. All of that and having God having my back, I felt very at peace on the field. The atmosphere really didn't bother me all that much; it was just the outcome of the game that bothered me. Obviously we all wish we had that game back to play again, but we're going to try and get a win this upcoming Saturday.

On a renewed sense of team confidence…
Definitely...I think you saw that in the Gators' game. There was a lot of fight in that game. The score got a little out of control at the very end, but for a team that everyone says will be blown out, for a team who people said it wouldn't be a game or why make it a primetime game, or whatnot, there is a lot of fight in us. You say the game happened, but if the ball fell our way a couple different times here or there, it would have been a different outcome. Obviously we didn't do enough to win that game, but I think you saw a little bit of how much fight we have and you'll see a lot more of that during the season. This is definitely a different altogether. There is no doubt in my mind about that. You'll see.
